TTM Worker

Brief Description:
This is a new position in the Traffic control system and is assessed with 2-unit standards.
Course Details:
Training involves about a 2-hour classroom session completing the theory unit standard.
Then a practical session to learn to put up signs safely and layout a taper and threshold for a stop-go worksite setup. On completion of this training, we then go onto the road to complete a practical assessment to assess that the trainee is competent to do this for a worksite.

TMO (Traffic Control Operative)

1 Day plus a practical assessment at a later date
Brief Description:
This position replaces the TC position and again is assessed with unit standards 31959 Theory and 39560 practical.
Course Details:
The qualification is gained by attending a full day (8.30 to 5.00) classroom course and then at a later date complete an onsite practical setup assessment which involves off lane work only. (footpath and shoulder closures)
Once qualified this person will be able to setup and look after shoulder (off lane) and footpath traffic control only. The TMQ can also be a site minder for on lane traffic control while the STMS is off site for short periods of time. (inspections or break periods)

Brief Description:
The old STMS training was able to cover all categories for Level 1 and then with further training to Level 2/3 Non Practising and then to have a practical assessment to become level 2/3 Practising. This has now been changed and the new training is outlined below.

STMS U (Site Traffic Management Specialist Universal)
This position is the theory qualification for the STMS before going to do the level of qualification chosen being CAT A, CAT B, or CAT C level of STMS – at Land Based Training we only offer CAT A and CAT B training.
STMS CAT A
The STMS with this qualification will only be able to be an STMS on a category A road which is a road with only two lanes with a speed of less than 60kmh.
STMS CAT B
The STMS with this qualification will only be able to be an STMS on Category B roads which is a road which will haveonly 2 lanes and a speed of over 70kmph.

Participants will learn the basic practices that result in safe food handling. They will be shown how to maintain effective personal hygiene when working with food as per their establishment requirements. They will be able to prepare, serve, and store food hygienically and safely.
