National Certificate in Horticulture Level 2

 

People who have completed Level 2 National Certificate in Horticulture will be able to demonstrate fundamental knowledge and/or elementary skills relevant to various sectors of the horticulture industry.

 

Graduates will gain an entry level range of skills in horticulture.  Some of these skills will include the ability to demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Soils and fertilisers
  • Plant processes and plant life
  • Hazards, hazard control, and the consequences of injury in a rural workplace
  • Plant nomenclature
  • Plant propagation
  • Safe operation of a quad bike or tractor

Graduates will also be able to demonstrate practical ability in:

  • Fencing
  • Weed control
  • Prepare and apply agrichemicals
  • Plant and care for trees, shrubs, and climbing plants
  • Maintain a documented work record of horticulture activities
